Description
This is one of those pieces I felt compelled to make, and after spending far too much time on it I still can’t quite understand it. The purpose of it is somehow a mystery to me. I knew it would have something to do with sleep and the way God chooses to speaks to us while we are unaware. It should have something to say about those vivid dreams that feel like reality, even for brief moments after we wake.
Submitting to the mystery in life seems like a relinquishing of self will, realizing there are things much bigger than ourselves and One much wiser that will guide us if we let Him.
“For God may speak in one way, or in another,
Yet man does not perceive it.
In a dream, in a vision of the night,
When deep sleep falls upon men,
While slumbering on their beds,
Then He opens the ears of men,
And seals their instruction.
In order to turn man from his deed,
And conceal pride from man,
He keeps back his soul from the Pit,
And his life from perishing by the sword.”
